Basic first - continue

Rozie,

Thanks for inviting me to this project. Like Hj Amran, I too just started wih DSLR about 2-3 Yrs ago. Gave up serious photography with 35mm flim SLR about 14 years ago. Mahal sangat experimenting :-). Now with digital photography you can edit/delete...heheh.

To be in line with the project agenda, the following are my equipments.
Camera - Canon D20
Lens - Canon EFS 18-55mm/4.5, EFS 10-20mm/4.5, EF 50mm/1.8, EF 70-200mm/L2.8, 2X converter. Sigma 70-300mm APO/DX/Macro/3.5
Flash - Speedlite 420EX and 580EX
Velbron Tripod and Manfroto Monopod convertible to Tripod.
Lowepro Backpack fits 15.4" laptop....for travelling
A smaller Lowepro backpack convenient to bring anywhere locally, tak bulky.
The Canon softwares are very useful. with the EOS viewer, you can use your PC/laptop as your viewfinder, kalau tak salah......Other applications like edit your RAW pictures...very powerful, kalau rajinlah...heheh. There's also photostitch application, the only application i've used so far is very handy.

You might be asking..."Apalah si Mamat ni, banyak sangat lens".......What I can say is that that is a result of menggelabar/nafsu....when buying equipment for the first time. A lot of question asks, like is this the right one? Alamak mahallah, beli yang low range dulu lah, dah pandai sikit boleh upgrade......Guess what? WRONG MOVE.
My member, an enthusiast too, adviced me before. Beli trus yang Mid to High end .., jangan gantunglah....nanti nyesal....member budak Indon...heheh. But he's right.
Now most of the time I just use the 10-20mm and 70-200mm.

May I suggest....you buy a camera cabinet/dehumidifier as you've already invested on good camera/lens, its best you keep it away from humidity.

It's good to invest on a monopod, bests use during events like sports, concerts or on a safari trip....it's very mobile.

Banyak I dah membebel.....attached is my first contribution on flower..I call it "Matahari Malam" will give the details later....hope you like it

You must you must you must show me how to use the monopod. I imagine that it won't be very stable particularly when taking MACRO photos. I currently use tripod. but since your monopod can be convert to tripod, that sounds really good.

But howlah you use e monopod?

Monopod is usually used when there is a lot of movement on the subject..mcm F1 racing, MotoGP, soccer match et...etc...
For MACRO.................
depends on subject jugak......I pakai freehand for insects....By the time you set up your tripod...terbang dah insect tu. Nanti I upload my insects in the posting...K
