Thanks for starting up the blog. This is my first time blogging. So you may want to educate me on the etiquette in using this blog.
As for suggestion, all of your suggestions are great but I am not sure I am ready for this. I am very green in DSLR. Last time I used film SLR was about 10 yrs ago...so..... Before we go deep into projects, can we spend the initial discussion on the tools that we have and how best to use it. That include both hardware (the camera and its accessories) and the software.
What I have is a Canon EOS40D and Speedlite flash 580ExII? I discover that having a backpack as the camera bag is very convenient when we were travelling in Iran, as well as walking in the golf course.
Let me post my first question in each area:
Hardware - I have an ipod video, which should be an ideal for storage while on the move, esp when you do not plan to bring your laptop. I have read some article that the ipod connector, i.e. to connect the camera to ipod, is slow and not reliable. Any suggestion ?
Software - my Canon comes with 4 softwares which I dont really know to make full use of it. Which one do you use for what purpose? Malas nak baca manual lah ni. I am going back to Malaysia at the end of this month, what software should I bring from Low Yat? I saw there are so many versions and add-on for Adobe Photoshop. Which one should I get?

I pun bukan terer sangat pakai DSLR and thus the purpose here is to learn from each other. I think (and hope), Insya Allah it would be faster than reading the book on our own.
I nak tengoklah backpack you tu. Ada gambar ka? Kasi load up sikit. My bag is the big boxy bag. sungguh tak hip untuk di bawa ke mana-mana. Rasa macam salesman pun ada.
Mau pergi Low Yatt ah? Kasi sambar itu photoshoplah apa lagi. Hehe.
For photoshop I use (I suspect sekarang dah ada version tinggi sikit)
- Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0. This is good enough for basic editing of photos like hilangkan jerawat, horizon senge, nak buang orang yang kita beci in a photo
- Adobe photoshop CS - ni I pakai kalau i nak buat design like cards ke apa with addition of my photos. Yang basic di atas pun boleh pakai.
- Adobe Illustrator - ni I pakai kalau i nak melukis. Tapi jarang amat pakai
selalunya photoshop yang kat low yatt tu dia jual semua benda dah ada kat dalam anyway. Tapi basically itu ajele yang i pakai.

Adobe photoshop memang power kalau pandai pakai. I'm still struggling with layers and masking.

I bought the back pack from Salam Plaza, so mahal sikitlah tapi practical prior to my trip to Iran.
It's one of those "Lowepro backpack". google that. Once I figured out how to load photos without creating new blog, I will upload the photo of the back pack.
I have asked my son to start looking for photoshop. Ada ape2 nak kirim ke?
Itu backpack sangat menarik. I am definitely adding that to my to-buy list.
