As promised earlier, details on my first contribution. Shot taken as experimental..... camera barulah kan. Lens used 18-55mm EFS, no MACRO, shot at 55mm. ISO speed set at 200 and shutter 1/20 and F/stop at 5.6 Used the camera built in lens, as said earlier experimenting on the camera...Looks very ordinary kan?
Welcome to the digital world...... edit sikitlah...my firsts experience with cropping.
Purposely cropped it tight and sacrifice the ordinary looking flower to a 1/4 to make it more artistic. I did not "Burn " the backround as the original intent is not a low key photo and left it as such konon2 illuminates from the Sunflower to match my Theme...."Matahari Malam". Adjust the contrast sikit and "CRESPO" outcome mcm magic.....
And Rozie you are right, there is an insect, "Spider". I perasan after upload to computer. It adds more taste to the pic kan? kan? Below is the after effect. Hope my explanation helps....I masih belajar lagi..
Now for my second contribution on flowers, cum insect.....I call it..."My Bee", will post the details later...Njoy......

he he. itu crp mengcrop dan contrast mengontrast memang favourite i. especially gambar pasir yang dull kenalah i contrastkan sikit.
tapi i tak pernah pakai itu fuction burn. maybe i did try sikit-sikit cuma i belum tau sangat dia untuk apa.
boleh kasi tunjuk satu gambar macro tak nanti, i nak buat comparison.
Actually My Bee tu gambat MACRO. Shot at 300mm focal Lens. The flower is actually about 2.5cm in diameter, looking from the top. I crop cuma 30% of the original photo. Tak paham why I cannot open the other 2 pictures in a new window. Is it the setting?
err I pun tak tau asal the bottom 2 pics tak boleh open in new window. you upload it through blogger kan dua-dua? hmm
the bee picture is amazing. tak lari pulak insect tu.
since you suka pakai macro freehand, i assume generally you take it under good lighting. somehow i prefer macro without flash. the matahari malam is taken with flash? do we need special flash when taking close up macro picture?
What kind of MACRO u nak shoot? Fruits? Insects? Flowers? I tall depends. Kalau outdoor takyah lah.
kalau indoor I'm afraid yes. Any flash that you can bounce will do. Kalau background white lagi bagus. There are special type of MACRO flash, tapi buang2 duitlah. I would rather invest to Canon 430 ke 580 where you can use 2 flash at a time with master/slave function. Kalau you nak experiment 2 flash, boleh I kasi pinjam I punya 580.
